Wild Turkey Taco Recipe
Turkey hunting is here, finally! But now that you’ve got the gobbler on the ground, what do you do with it? One of my favorite wild turkey recipes is wild turkey tacos. Tacos taste great, cook quick and are pretty healthy, so there’s really no better way to eat them. Check out the wild turkey taco recipe and let us know what you think.
Here is what you’ll need to make this delicious meal.
• Turkey breast meat
• Vegetable oil
• Fresh tomato
• Lettuce
• Onion
• Shredded cheese (pick your favorite)
• Hard or soft shells
• Hot sauce or taco sauce
• Water
Step 1: Go hunting and get yourself a big wild turkey!
Step 2: Once you’ve cleaned up, remove the breast meat from the turkey. Cut it into bite-sized chunks and tenderize them with a meat hammer or meat tenderizer.
Step 3: Slice up the tomato, lettuce, cheese and any other fixings that you like on your tacos.
Step 4: Get a frying pan and heat up the oil. Brown the turkey chunks in the oil and add 2/3 cup of water and taco seasoning mix. Add a lid and simmer the meat while stirring often.
Step 5: While the meat is cooking, heat up your oven to 325 degrees. Bake your taco shells there for 5 to 7 minutes on a cookie sheet until they are crisp and warm. This will complement the turkey well.
Step 6: Once the shells are warm, put the meat on them and add your favorite additions. Now you have some awesome wild turkey tacos to make the hunt last longer than the morning.
