Utah Air Drops Fish into Back Country Lakes from Planes
I guess that I’ve known that lakes way up in the back country were stocked from time to time, but I never knew how …. until now.
Fish Stocking by Airplane
These baby fish that are smaller than your hand were dropped from a plane into lakes that are at very high altitudes in Utah. Ted Hallows uploaded these videos to YouTube showing the awesome footage of a unique process.
Plane Fish Stocking
These lakes used to be stocked by hand with people using horses and carrying jugs up these rugged mountains. Now, that process takes only a few hours and can drop rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout, tiger trout, splake and Artic grayling into these lakes.
It looks like it takes an expert pilot to pull this off but we as anglers are thankful.
