When it comes to bird hunting of any species, there is no shotgun that is more reliable than a pump action and nobody does a pump action shotgun better than Remington. Remington 870 Pump Action Shotgun

With turkey season here I thought that I would talk about a gun that will not break the budget but will still be able to make any shot that you will need it to. I personally own two Remington 870 shotguns and have never experienced a problem with either. My first was a 20 gauge youth model 870 which never failed me and was able to take down both birds and deer (with slugs) and my second is a black synthetic 26-inch 12 gauge that has taken a beating that not many other guns could have handled.
Turkey hunting and any other bird hunting for that matter puts a gun through a tough job. Whether there is inclement weather, rough woods and trees scraping it, mud, dirt, gravel or anything else, the Remington 870 can handle it. You’ll find several varying opinions on the best pump action shotgun to buy, but the Remington 870 is always at the top of that list.
Remington 870 12-Gauge Shotgun
You can own the Remington 870 in a 26 or 28 inch barrel and can get one for right around $300 at Cabelas (www.cabelas.com). You may be able to find a used one, but it’s tough, since everyone seems to hang on to theirs once they are purchased.
If you want to join the club of those who own the best shotgun ever built, then go pick up an 870. With all of the available chokes, sights and other features, you will never have any problem finding accessories and they will all come at a great price.
