You didn’t pack a rain jacket and now your cotton shirt is soaked. The Helium II jacket from Outdoor Research is the perfect tool for avoiding this. This jacket takes up virtually no space and can fold up into its own pocket so you can throw it in your pack, or clip it right on.

Helium II Rain Jacket
Even the zippers are waterproof and the chest pocket is a handy addition for stowing your phone or wallet.
We tried out the Helium II jacket and put it through a lot of tests and it passed all with flying colors. The elastic cuffs were comfortable and all of the seams on the jacket were fully taped so you can be sure of no water leakage. The jacket also was great as a wind breaker and turned out to be an ideal layer under another shell since it was chilly out.
Lightweight Hiking Rain Jacket
The material that the OR Helium II Jacket is built from will avoid ripping easily and is completely water and wind proof.
Backpackers and bikers are going to really appreciate the waterproof zipper so that no wind or water is going to seep in. If you get warm, you can easily fold this up and you’re not going to notice the weight. While the jacket doesn’t have front pockets to save weight, it does have a chest pocket where you can put your phone of anything else. Another feature that we really appreciated was the fully adjustable hood and drawcord hem so that we could get the perfect fit with the jacket.

The fit of the Helium II Jacket from Outdoor Research is great and is fitted perfectly throughout. The adjustable waist and hood make it adjustable to anyone.
Overall, this jacket is an ideal rain coat for anyone who ventures in the outdoors and doesn’t want to carry a lot of weight. It’s easily packable, stylish and a great wind blocker for dual purpose use.
