Giant Stingray Caught in Peru

We all knew that there were some big fish in the ocean, but this Stingray is one animal that I’d rather not encounter while swimming in the sea.

A group of fisherman working in the Northern Tumbe region of Peru encountered this giant stingray that has been reported to weigh over one ton. The giant stingray was found on April 18, in the La Crove cove near the border of Ecuador.

Massive stingrays like this are an endangered animal and the fisherman have been in contact with Peru’s marine authorities.

This is certainly going to make you think twice about jumping in off your boat this summer though!
