2014 Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo
The 2014 Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Expo kicks off on April 4th and runs the whole weekend until Sunday the 6th at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI.
It’s about that time of year again, where many hunters and outdoorsman leave their homes and congregate in Madison, WI at the Outdoor Life Deer and Turkey Expo at the Alliant Energy Center. This year is looking to be better than ever and the 2014 Wisconsin Deer & Turkey Expo is shaping up to have some awesome new features, favorite old ones and plenty of big bucks and gobblers to keep you entertained.
The event runs from Friday, April 4, 2014 until Sunday April 6th. It opens at 2 p.m. Friday and closes at 9 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday is 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The show takes place at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI located at 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way. It’s an easy drive right off the belt line on the West side of the city.

Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Expo Contests
The 2014 Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Expo will feature three contests this year as it has in the past. There are two photo contests and of course, the Wisconsin Budweiser Trophy Deer/Bear Contest. The photo contests consist of a trail camera contest and an outdoor photo contest. Trail cameras show animals doing amazing things and this contest is all about that. You can enter by dropping off your photos from noon Friday to 11 a.m. Sunday. The outdoor photo contest has several categories for photographers to showcase their skills. Drop off times are the same as with the trail camera photo contest and you’ll get to see some of the best photography that Wisconsin has to offer!
The 2013 Wisconsin Budweiser Trophy Deer/Bear contest shows off some of the biggest buck that the state has seen each year. Many from the 2012 and 2013 season will be there and you’ll be able to view many trophy bucks from Wisconsin that were shot with both guns and bows.
New Features
This year’s show will feature some new seminars, products and museums that have never been seen before at the Deer and Turkey Expo. There will be chainsaw carving demonstrations, WBH Bowhunting heritage museum, Muzzleloaders through history exhibit, reloading demonstrations, a “Field & Stream” spin to win booth for prizes and all of the Outdoor Life ‘Deer of the Year’ entries on display. You can bet that you’ll find new product booths as well and you won’t be disappointed in any Deer or Turkey Seminar that you choose to watch.
Old Favorites
There are plenty of the old favorites as well at the 2014 Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Expo. Bow booths are set up so that you can try out the newest products on the range and there will be booths from all of your favorite hunting products. One of my personal favorites is to see the “Wall of Shame” from the Wisconsin DNR of all the poached bucks that were taken and mounted in Wisconsin.
